BREAKING NEWS : Peterborough Sack Ferguson ! This is coming off the news that Peterborough United have finally had enough with Darren Ferguson as manager after only two wins from fifteen games. It has been agreed though that Ferguson will stay on as a player untill the end of the season as Peterborough's squad is incredibly thin due to a lack of resources. The big question now is to who will take over the Posh as manager and will they receive loyalty from the squad with Ferguson still in the dressing room. The bookies currently have Alan Shearer as the favourite to take over although with the Newcastle job recently becoming free will he opt for a return there instead. Others linked are Chris Hughton, Lee Clark and Billy Davies

Peterborough hire GriffithsPeterborough United today announced that ex England international Adam Griffiths has taken over the reigns at London Road. The young manager is well known for his ambition and swagger that was well profiled during his career at clubs such as Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and Derby County. Only time will tell if Griffiths can turn things around for the Posh with promotion chasers Newcastle in a couple of days the change will have to be a quick one. Griffiths went on record saying that he was happy with the challenge and was looking at giving the squad more strength in depth, and a better tactical understanding. When questioned over how he felt about Ferguson staying on as a player to help the team he jokingly replied hopefully he's better on the pitch than off it.

Martis To Join PoshShelton Martis has agreed to join Peterborough in January for 45K The main reason to this signing was down to the Posh's weak backline which has been letting goals in left, right and centre this season. Meanwhile the rumour mill is going crazy over where the future of George Boyd lies when the transfer window reopens with Burnley showing a very public interest in the Scottish international
