Just had a mess about on the new update.. I added the english and finnish league used the Finnish start date which starts January 2008 took the bottom off the premiership club too see if i could save them from relegation. It was currently Fulham and the morale was soo low results didnt pick up manage to save myself last day off the season Roman Paulvchenko was on the transfer list by the way in Janaury at a very tidy price.

Good day and a happy one to you all, not sure if this is the right forum posting...but bear with me (newbie an all :-D ) just scrolling through reading all the different stories and achievements from fellow FM08 greats, and was just wondering, has it ever been achieved??? to be able to take a team from the bottom rungs of the conference north/south to the top of the premiership/champions league? I bought football manager 2008 few weeks back, and was amazed to find my local team was available to manage (afc telford utd) so imagine my delight when i got home. To save me from drivelling on, i just merely wondering if anybody else has set them selves a personal challenge. After losing my save game with AFC Telford, i thoght, a good challenge, start unemployed, currently managing Hucknall Town. Thanks in the very least for reading, and may the fortune favour the brave well, I haven't tried it on lower leagues, but I did manage Sheffield Utd in Championship, promoted on the first year (then relagated, and then promoted again=), and won the EPL, Community Shield, Carling, FA Cup, Euro Super Cup, and Champions League in 2015. And became the richest club in the world. Started the 2016 season winning the Club World Cup. Billy Sharp was immense, as he became EPL top scorer 4 times in 6 years, once with 55+ goals in 37 matches. I have then since stop playing the save game, as I had won everything in the game and wanted a new challange. But as I am writing this, I'm thinking of loading the game after work!! Haha.

Well I started a game with Reading a couple of days ago and I'm loving it! First Season [/u] Transfers in:Andy Carroll - Newcastle - loan Aquino - Murcia - £3M Jay Demerit - Watford - £3.5 Chris Gunter - Tottenham - loan Total = £6.5M Transfers out:Kevin Doyle - Hull - £3.6M Jamel Forde-Small - Macclesfield - £9k Khalifa Cisse - Derby - £3M Bobby Convey - Derby - £2.4M Total = £9M League TableWas expected to finish 3rd but I was top for the majority of the season and when the results really mattered I slipped up and Ipswich took advantage, winning the league by 8 points in the end. At least we were still going up. Aquino really impressed me. Signed him when he was 16 and expected him to be a backup player but when Stephen Hunt got injured I gave him a chance. He certianly took it! Getting Man of the Match on his first 2 appearances and setting up 4 in 2 as well as getting 1 goal. Ended up finishing the season with 18 goals, 26 assists in 35 appearances. Shane Long was top goalscorer but. Scoring 24 times in 43 appearances, winning him Reading Player of the Year. Carling CupPut out at the 3rd Round sadly. Easily disposed of Wycombe in the 1st Round, winning 3-1 at their ground. This was Aquino's first game, setting up 2 and getting MOTM. In the next round I faced Rochdale at their ground as well. Again Aquino getting MOTM, setting up 1 and scoring one, helping us to an easy 3-0 victory. In the 2rd round though we faced a much tougher test, a trip to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth. 3 minutes in and I took the lead through Marek Matejovksy but Kranjcar equlised 2 minutes later. 1-1 HT. 78 Minutes and Noel Hunt scores a screamer. it remained like this for the following 12 minutes until Jermain Defoe scores a dramatic 90th minute equaliser. Gutted. Quality then proved as he scored another 2 in Extra Time to complete his hat-trick and take Portsmouth through. FA CupPut out at the first stage, 3rd Round. Away to Plymouth, where I fully expected to go through but as you know FA Cup provides shocks and this seemed to be one of them. Bet 4-2. League TableAquinoShane LongMemorable Games

Have been playing this game stop start for ages but recently got back into it. Am playing as liverpool in my 5th season. Its been a unconvincing start to the season. My forwards (Torres/Aguero) cant find any sort of form. After 4 league trophies in a row I'm struggling in 6th. Far too many draws are the problem. You'd swear this was real life.. My defense is solid though. Kompany and Albiol are rocks and Mathieu Sauiner is more than adequte cover. My trophy haul so far is 4 premierships 2 european cups 3 fa cups 1 league cup

solihull moors (see challenge thread)
billericay (into 3rd season in championship after gaining successive promotions)
HKFC (no thats not a badly typed chicken outlet, its Honk Kong Football Club.) just started a new game here, trying to rekindle my glory days as a manager when i was gloriously sacked after winning 17 back-to-back league titles....
and
England... anything capello can do, i can do better...
i think there might be a liverpool save in amongst all that, or i might have gotten a lil po'd and deleted it....

Doing a Celtic/Scotland save right now. Just took over in time for the world cup draws to be made. Hopefully I can do better than Burley
