Yeah I got your pm Chief. I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't asking you to host it, I just wanted to see whether you were still up for the network game, and if you were maybe you could send out a pm to all the people who were originally going to be in on the game. Doesn't really matter though as I can easily do that. Doesn't look too hard to host a network game so I should be able to do it. I'm gonna go into the network game threads section now and post there after I have finished this post. Hopfeully people who wanna play will check that thread. So anyone who wants to play let it be known in the Network game sign-up thread. fm2008-chinwagupdate.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=network&action=display&thread=148

I think Chin Wag really is dead! When trying to send a pm to all the original Network gamers it came up saying the message could not be sent as there was no accounts with the usernames chinwag or RUFC4eva?! Rest in peace chin We should hold a memorial - seeing as without him we would be playing with squads over a year out of date.

Ah, cheers for letting me know. I just sent both of them a pm about the Network game. How come they have got different display names from their actual usernames? Is RUFC a mod then?
Well at least things are looking a bit up, I thought that there may have been 2 deaths, let alone 1!

You can change your display name after signing up, when you register with your username, you're stuck with it they obviously changed to RUFC etc

I'm sensing the sad face means you don't want the username mirager anymore! lol
Btw, do you remember that thread I started about not being able to win a game? Well I started a new game and decided to use your 4-3-2-1 formation! I'm nearly in Jan 2008 and I'm managing Portsmouth and England. I'm 13th with Portsmouth, but I managed to beat Man Utd and Arsenal and drew with Chelsea. The league is really close though. If I manage a few wins I could be 5th/6th but if I do badly and all the teams below me win I could end up in the bottom 3. It's strange the way it works out. The top 4 are never as dominant in the game as they are in real life. (With the exception of Arsenal this year). It does make the game better though as teams like Tottenham and Everton qualify for the CL.
I have won 3 and drew 1 with England. The draw was a friendly though and I was fielding a weaker team than usual.
I tweaked some of the player/team instructions and made the tactic more defensive for away games.
I think your tactic is pretty good and I'm hopeful of Europe with Portsmouth. If I achieve that your tactic is very good! (It does work wonders with Peter Crouch up front!!)

Cheers. Where are you in the table? Maybe you should try mirager's tactic! Is the transfer window still open?
Someone who may come to your team is Diego Buonanotte. I got him for Portsmouth for just over £1m. Someone recommended him in the good young player section. So I scouted him, but the reports wern't too good to be honest, I think they said that he could turn out to be a decent prem player. I decided to buy him anyway. I was intending to loan him out to get him some first team experience but I ended up selling Niko Krancjar to Roma, and Portsmouth's only other remotely creative attacking midfielder is Arnold Mvuemba so I didn't really have any other choice but to play Buonanotte. I'm so bloody glad I sold Krancjar! Buonanotte is amazing! He gets a rating of 8 almost every game! I'm using mirager's formation he uploaded in the tactics section. I usually play him in the RCM position. Recently I have been playing him in the RW position though. He also does well there and regularly gets 8s even though that isn't one of his positions. I'm currently training him in that position but it still says he is ineffectual playing in RW.
I think you may have a chance of getting him at Watford. If he came to Portsmouth I'm guessing he will go to most Premier League teams.
Hopefully River Plate haven't been playing him as if they have, a year on he will probably be more expensive or may have moved to another club.
If you decide to scout him first don't listen to the scout reports, just buy him and give him a chance straight away! He now has Portsmouth listed as one of his favourite clubs so I'm hoping that means I'll have a good chance of keeping him for a good few years.
Btw are you interested in being in the new Network game?
