For me its a simple 4-4-2 formation. The 2 central defenders sit deep and only go forward for corners, full backs get forward to support the wingers. The 2 Midfielders are varied, one will sit in behind the others mopping up but will also try and support the defence when needed, wingers get forward all day long getting to by line and whipping in the cross. Strikers, well big man little man senario for me, one will drop deep and be the target man with plenty of height and strength, the other will be fast as hell and have an eye for goal. Seems to be working well with direct fast passing instructions closing down when possible! What about you?

I created my own tactic, based around the way Arsenal play (before they got sh*t) called Slick. Heres what it looks like : Looks a bit weird really but it has worked wonders for me ;D

used 4-5-1 when i didn't have enough quality. Flooded midfield and choked opposition, and my AMC was super finisher.
Now use flat 4 4 2. Two small strikers, one with high passing ability/long shots. The other very pacy with super high finish/off the ball.
Bowie, could you post your tactic? Tried that a few times but couldn't work it out.

I definately use a counter attacking 4-4-2. But sometime i use 5-4-1 to choke out the strikers and push up.
I use counter attacking, tight marking and try to beat offside trap with wide wingers trying to cut in a little to provide the crosses and passes.
I use pacey strikers which must be strong as well. I brought Bristol Rovers from League Two (When i took over) to Premiership league with that tactics. Work real well with me.

i'm a traditional 4-4-2 man.
i played a 4-5-1 when at valencia but it lacked goals if David Villa wasn't on form.

4-4-2
Big target striker small quick striker
Target man aim to the head so the tall man can flick on headers too the short man
works wonders for me when i was at Crystal Palace Shefki Kuqi was a beast in the air!

I like a modified 4-5-1 that is like a cross between 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 with 2 AM wingers and DM and lone ST
For lower leagues I always use 4-4-2 as this is pretty simple for the not so gifted players to play
