So with the news that he has arrived at Carrington to undergo a medical what are your views on him signing for the Red Devils?
Personally I think he is still a great player, you dont lose Quality but you can lose form is a great saying in Football, and who better to bring out the best in him than.. Sir Alex.
I would honestly put money on him scoring over 20 goals a season with United and with a good pre season under his belt and working with such great coaches he could be back to his best and maybe make Capello think again in time for the World Cup in South Africa.
Whats are your views?

I think he's good as a back up considering none of the other players they are/were supposedly after would be prepared to be starting most games sitting on the bench.
Your right Chin, if it rejuvinates is career then it will benefit England so much.

Defo gg to be backup striker behind Rooney and Berba. Really can see him getting more than 20 goals next season if he joins, even as third choice striker. Quality player, one hell of a finisher, to be used as an impact sub. Reminds us of a certain Mr. Solskjaer. And as manutd.com has it, it would be a HUGEEEEEE benefit for those young strikers like macheda and welbeck having Owen and Ole to look up to, and to get advice from.

Michael Owen is going to have alot of stick from Liverpool fans including us. But he's going to be a good move for Sir Alex no matter if he's injured, Man Utd have got plenty money to check him out with his knee problems. I have no problem with him as long as he dont score against Liverpool, it's all good.

Can't see this working at all. I can't see him being fit regularly enough to be a first choice striker, I can only imagine that Ferguson is bringing him in as back up. And whenever I've seen Owen come off the bench he's been useless, totally unable to get a feel for the game. Can't see this being a success at all.

at the very least he played in the premiership before... dose not need any 'adaption' which most foreign players need to....

To be fair, he didnt get th chance to totally recover from his injuries because he was always rushed back to play at newcastle. if he does get injured at manutd, he would not get rushed back as we still have welbeck, macheda to back up.

I have nothing against Michael owen as a person, he seems like a nice enough guy and loves the game of football. I think Sir Alex HAS just took a massive gamble if I;m being honest with you, it's no secret that Michael Owen has never had the best luck when it comes to injuries, but like some people have said already, being used as an impact sub, or in rotation with Berba then this could work out, it really depends :/
Good luck on this one Sir Alex, I'll be watching this one with interest.

im kinda worried this could turn into a very good signing for Manure. its really gonna be interesting when they come to Anfield though, see what kinda reception he gets. incidentally, is he still on liverpool's favoured personnel list?! also a wee bit surprised Benitez didnt have a punt on him, with the new CL regulations this season, he woulda been a good backup.

Im surpised also but he did state that he was just about to talk to other intersted clubs before Alax Ferguson called him.
In my opinion I think he has looked at Sir Alex as the best person to get him back to form and ultimately back to the World Cup.
What a transfer for him, he must be pinching himself!!

Michael Owen were first of those people that Rafa sold when he took over. He has stated that Owen is not his type of player that he want a year ago or so, dont know if he still think that or not but I would love to see Owen back at Anfield playing for us.
